Page Brin went to the Burning Man Festival in 1988 and designed the doodle in honor of the festival and to let users know they would be out of the office that weekend. The doodle was designed by Larry Page and Sergey Brin.
The idea of decorating the company logo to celebrate notable events was born. Since 1998 there have been over 2000 doodles created for hompages around the world.
