Industry Pioneer: Ken Kutaragi – PlayStation

Ken Kutaragi, who is know as the “Father of the PlayStation”, was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2014 Game Developer Conference last March.

After creating the SPC700 sound chip for the Super Nintendo, Kutaragi began working with Sony to create its own game console and helped launch the first PlayStation in 1994 as its lead engineer.
