We built a web-based system that allowed users to scan a QR code displayed on the vending machine. Instantly, their phone became a controller—no downloads or installations. This created a low-friction entry point and ensured high participation rates.
Players used their smartphones to control a beach-themed game on a vending machine screen, jumping obstacles and collecting virtual Coronas in a real-time, console-like experience.
Our software tied gameplay performance directly to physical rewards. The more points players earned, the higher the tier of prizes they could win—ranging from branded merchandise to premium summer giveaways. This kept users invested and encouraged competitive replay.
